The iron apparently works well, while it works - in this case, 2 months. CHI/Farouk's warranty policy is simply unconscionable. I read a review before buying that said buyer beware, CHI will screw you on the warranty and will honor it if you purchase the product from an online retailer. This is sadly true. They will do exactly that. My best advice is to avoid this unscrupulous company completely. There are excellent products out there. Like Hot Tools and Babyliss. Apparently CHI products aren't altogether reliable after all, or there wouldn't be so many people with defective products and return issues. But according to CHI/Farouk, my product may well have been a "replica", and that's why it failed. My take? This popular brand is having major manufacturing issues and is willing to compromise on quality. If you pay $125-150 retail price, they will make good on their warranty (minus a potentially not-so-nominal $35 charge and your time and energy). If you want to get in at a lower price point, they will not stand behind their product. If no one stands behind it, it's not a product my friends/family need to own either.
